Research Of Structural Form Design With Architecture Artistic Expression

With development of The Times, people has higher demands for aesthetic ofconstruction.The vision impact of the building appearance has becoming one of thefactor to decide whether a building is successful.The research of building structure and form design is an interdiscipline ofArchitecture and Structural Engineering, it breaks through the traditional conceptof "structure as technology", to redefine the role of building structure inarchitecture artistic expression. To learn the architecture artistic expression throughthe investigation of building structure and form design is a brand new at the sametime very challenging topic.Based on the knowledge about the building structure and form design, in thisdissertation, the misunderstanding of building structure and form design werediscussed in details. At the same time, the application principle, aesthetic target,technique of expression and geometrical bases were also researched.After analysis the correlation theory of building structure and form design, theconvention center in Chibi were used as an example of project practice to explainthe realization process:first, project requirement analysis;second, early designidea;third, structure conception;then, whole structure calculation. By the last step,realizability of form idea can be ensue. The system, material and artistic expressionin details about structure design were also analysised again in order to demonstratethe reasonable and application value of structure and form design.The last part of the dissertation gave a foresight of the future development ofstructural form design, summarized the theories which came from the projectpractice we used in this dissertation. Also, the applicable design concept and designreference were proposed to guide the coming design projects.
