With Chinese railway joining the era of high-speed rail, the development of high-speed trains in China is moving toward the world. High-speed train itself is a large system that faces a number of challenges, such as the pantograph-catenary interaction, the wheel-rail interaction, and the fluid-structure interaction relationships. The pantograph-catenary system is the source of power for high-speed trains. Its current collection quality directly affects the security of the train running.How to ensure the good pantograph-catenary current collection quality is a key technology for high-speed train. This paper focuses on the influence of pantograph aerodynamics and vehicle rail coupled vibration on the current collection performance of high-speed train. The main results and conclusions of this paper are as follows:Firstly, based on the theory of pantograph aerodynamics, the aerodynamic characteristics of the pantograph were analyzed, and a pantograph aerodynamic model was established by a CFD software Fluent. The lift and drag forces of the various components of the pantograph at different running speeds have been simulated, which provided a foundation for the pantograph structure optimization, noise reduction, and pantograph-catenary current collection performance considering pantograph dynamics.Secondly, we established a model of pantograph-catenary dynamics using the C programming language and studied the pantograph air forces impacting on the current collection system. The differences of current collection performance were compared between the average aerodynamic forces loads one the pantograph and the real unsteady aerodynamic forces loads. The results were further verified by harsh conditions such as crosswind condition.This paper proposed a fluid-structure loosely coupling method by Fluent and UDF, based on the pantograph aerodynamics and pantograph-catenary dynamics. The differences between coupled and non-coupled cases were compared.Moreover, a dynamic simulation model of the pantograph-catenary system has also been established by SIMPACK and its FEMBS module. The pantograph current collection characteristics were also analyzed by loading the lift and drag forces. At last, a vehicle-rail and pantograph-catenary coupled method for solving the current collection quality considering the track vibration was proposed based on this SIMPACK model.
