Three aspects are included in this paper, which are the related theory of fractional calculus controller, wind power system modeling and the application of fractional order controller in the wind power generation.Firstly, the fractional calculus numerical expression is deduced from the fractional calculus mathematical definition. Compared with the integer order control system and integer order controllers, the fractional order control system and fractional order controller is introduced. According to the mathematical relationship of fractional calculus, the simulation model of fractional control system is setup, the tunning of fractional order controller parameters is discussed, and the effect of fractional order controller and integer order controller are compared.Secondly, in the chapter of wind power generation system modeling, according to the basic principle of wind machine and doubly-fed induction generator, the simulation models of wind machine and doubly-fed induction generator are built on MATLAB. At the same time, the maximum power point tracking (MPPT) strategy and the active power, reactive power decoupling control strategy of wind power generation process are introduced.Thirdly, in the chapter of fractional order controller’s application in the wind power genaration, the two parts above are combined and the fractional order controller is applied in the wind power generation control system. The parameters of the fractional order controller are searched by particle swarm optimization algorithm. The simulation result shows that fractional order controller inherited integer order controller’s advantages, such as simple operation, and the control effect is better than integer order controllers.
