With the rapid development of national economy, the demand for electricity is on the increase. By theend of2011, the power installed capacity in China had come to1.056billion kilowatts, including thermalpower whose ratio in total amount of energi as high as72.5%, which is the real energy consumption andpollutant emissions leader. In order to build a resource-conserving society and environment friendly societyas well as to promote sustainable economic and social development, our country should strengthen thework of energy saving and emission reduction. Power generation enterprises should improve the energyefficiency of power plant,and do moral obligations and social responsibility. At the same time, power gen-eration enterprises can reduce the generating cost and improve the competitiveness of the power, so as toameliorate the economic benefit by the energy wasting.This paper analyzes the situation of the power plant energy saving and energy consumption.Then itmake a detailed introduction on the structure characteristics and operating characteristics of the auxiliary oflarge capacity such as fan and pump. On the base of the introduction of technology of AC adjustablespeed technology principle and characteristics.,including the high voltage frequency conversion technol-ogy and chopping inner feedback, the energy saving renovation of pumps and fans were made. At the sametime,the physical situation in Hengyun Power Plant. is also considered.The examples of energy savingreconstruction in Hengyun Power Plant verify the energy-saving effect. With the speed regulation,theauxiliary engine can save more than30%energy,the effect is very considerable.
