Nowadays, the manufacturing industry is faceing the market demand of multiple variety and small batch production, the enterprise must put forward a kind of new production system to adapt to the changing market environment. Under this background, then the reconfigurable manufacturing system put forward, because virtual cell layout can achieve reconfigurable manufacturing system well, it can make manufacturing system not only keep the high productivity, but also can make manufacturing system have high flexible and equipment utilization. Nowadays virtual cell layout got more and more scholars’attention and more and more enterprise’s welcome. This paper mainly studies the cell layout, the main content including:First of all, establishing a mathematical model about cell layout based on clustering algorithms, because of considering the reconfiguration cost of cell layout, then setting up another mathematical model about the virtual cell layout based on clustering algorithms in the multi-cycle. Its objective function is about the maximize sum total correlation degree of adjacent equipment and the most balanced machine load, and then this thesis introduces a numerical example to prove the effectiveness of the model.Secondly, it will be based on the concept of genetic algorithm and its process, introducing a numerical example, and then adopting genetic algorithms to solve this mode. In the designing of the GA, we chose roulette wheel selection and elite reserves selection to select the chromosome, and in the genetic algorithm coding, crossover and mutation stages, using two kinds of method, it can make the objective function better faster convergence to the optimal solution.Thirdly, utilizing the history data of the enterprise, and forming the demands of the parts in several cycles, then considering the mathematical model which based on clustering algorithms in the multi-cycle environment, using GA to get the optimal solution of the virtual cell layout. Based on this cell layout, it makes a comparison between the logistics capacities before and after the plan.
