With the development of human social economy and population, more and more high-rise buildings are applied to real life,respectively, ground foundation is changing now and group piles foundation is used extensively. After entering the modernization, group piles foundation is developed rapidly,but seeing through the situation now,it still face many challengesThe bearing capacity and settlement issues of the pile foundation are always the the hot spots of engineers and university scholars. Group pile foundation is more complex than the single pile foundation due to the existence of the pile group effects,which increases the difficulty of analysing the stress mechanism of pile groups. Although the design concepts of pile foundation in recent years has been developed, but because of the complexity, theory is still lagging behind the practice.There are still much gap between the level of pile foundation in theoretical research and practical engineering applications.Many assumptions that do not meet the actual need have to do in order to get the analytical solution.All the same, due to the complexity of the solution by the analytical method, that people need to find other solutions. Due to the rapid development and wide application of large-scale high-speed computer, the numerical methods are becoming increasingly popular and flexible in the design of pile foundation.In this paper, calculations are based on the basis of the finite element analysis.The work and analysis on the group pile foundation are on follows:①Elastic-plasticity finite element problems in geotechnical engineering are discussed,and some aspects that include Constitutive relation,yield function, loading condition are stated in detailed,especially for D-P criterion.②The paper verified the feasibility of ABAQUS in the pile group engineering,and analyzed. Several of effecting pile foundation’s bearing capacity in the case of even location of pile. At last, some valuable rules have been obtained.③The bearing capacity of varying rigidity pile group and differential settlement are calculated by using ABAQUS.Comparing the results with even location of pile,it came to that varying rigidity pile group plays obvious role in the adjustment of differential settlement.④Combining the catastrophe chain theory with the failure process of pile group,this paper preliminarily explorates the rationality of pile group which is explained by chain-styled theory, and destruction process is divided into three stages, the changes of internal state of each stage is analyzed.
