As the growth of the highway traffic, researching the key widening technologyof stone arch bridge increasingly urgent. As the increasing of the traffic volume andthe insufficiently capacity, a lot of old stone arch bridge has can not met therequirements, this phenomenon became a valve in restricting traffic, the situation needto be solved.First of all, this paper introduces the situation of bridge widening at home andabroad and the common bridge widening method, technology, stone slab arch bridgesurvey, design theory and analysis method at present.Secondly, because the influence that the original bridge upper structure to thenew bridge portion after the bridge widening, the stress changes. Using Midas finiteelement analysis software Civil, establish the original bridge finite element model,constant load, live load and the load combination of analysis, discovered through theuse of upper structure is not connected and the lower structure connected broaden theway slab arch bridge, can reduce weight and moving load in the original arch ringgenerate stress the original bridge, improve safety and load bearing capacity of slabarch; in the widening of the process, the new arch rib size is small, the original bridgeunder moving load, stress is larger, more adverse to the original bridge; stone archbridge widening and reconstruction process, the new bridge and the original bridgeeither immediately or delayed time connection, are safe; delayed connection time ismore long, the new bridge shrinkage and creep in the junction of the effect will bemore and more small, delay of three months after the connection of the original bridgeeffect will tend to ease;Finally, t slab arch widened the natural frequency of the structure is increased,indicating the structure rigidity increases, structural dynamic performanceenhancement; stone arch bridge widening after the structure stability coefficientincreases, structural stability enhancement, bridge widening improves the structurestability.
