As people put emphasis on life and increase safety consciousness, studyingfreeway velocity difference to reduce traffic accidents and incidents loss is particularlyimportant, based on the traffic safety situation in the high number of highway accidentsin China.The speed is the core elements of the Highway Traffic Safety, The velocitydifference not only affects the accident rate and the severity of the accident.Accidentoccurred in the process of deceleration, it is necessary to study the speed and accidentsand the speed variance of the deceleration process.First study the dynamic behavior ofthe driver and vehicle characteristics, in studying the driver’s traffic characteristics,including driver’s visual features, determine characteristics and response characteristics.Secondly analyze the cognitive processes that affect vehicle deceleration to establish thedriver to slow decision-making process model; based on the cognitive processes of thedeceleration of information, establish the single brake velocity change model, analyzbraking control response and force of the braking process. Finally, analyze of the singlebrake speed change model based on the speed of multi-vehicle involved in the impact ofthe speed difference test model; Create a multi-vehicle involved test model on the speedand speed variance after the single brake velocity change model; Using MATLABsoftware to write the simulation program to study the variation of average speed andspeed variance of the deceleration process conditions, and assumes that the vehiclespeed in the same conditions to verify the simulation results.The simulation results show that speed variance have a decreasing trend in theprocess of deceleration;To speed variance,the initial velocity have amplification.
