FRP (fiber reinforced polymer) is a new type of material for structural engineering.It iswidely used to strengthen the RC members for its merits, such as high strength, lightweight,high corrosion protection, little modification of physical dimension etc. It has been proved aneffect method to strengthen the reinforced concrete members with FRP in engineering throughresearches of these years. In the case of strengthening RC members with FRPs, lots of tests andresearches have been carried and have received much achievement. But few researches onstrengthening frame structures have been reported.According to reinforced concrete frame, based on seismic behavior experimental study ofFRP reinforced beam-column joint, a further study about seismic behavior of the integral framestructure is developed in this paper. In order to have a comprehensive understanding of thereinforced concrete frame, laid a solid foundation for practical engineering application.The domestic and foreign reinforcement principle and strategies of joint is summarized.Based on the existing results of experimental study and theoretical analysis on FRP reinforcedconcrete members, the frame side joint model is established,using finite element analysissoftware ANSYS for elastic-plastic analysis.The analysis results show that:the load carryingcapacity and ductility of FRP reinforced concrete joints increased in different degree,strengthened method with FRP based on joints can effectively improve the seismicperformance.Based on the experimental results of the joints,the method of concrete frame structureseismic__strengthened with FRP based on joints is put forward. Three frame models with twospans and two stories have been conducted according to1:2scale and investigated, respectivelynumbered KJ1, KJ2, KJ3-1, KJ3-2. KJ1was reinforced with C/GFRP and KJ2reinforced withCFRP; KJ3-1was the reference for comparing without FRP reinforcement; KJ3-2is usingCFRP for reinforcement at KJ3-1loading cracks, reinforced methods with KJ2. The experimentof the low period dead load is processed for three frame structures.The seismic performance offrames framework for carrying capacity, stiffness degradation, ductility, energy dissipationcapacity have been analyzed.According to the results of the test,concrete frame structure seismic__strengthened with FRP based on joints have a good seismic performance.It is provedthat method strengthened with FRPs is available. |
