The Ba Chu culture is an integral part of Chinese traditional culture. The Spring and Autumn Periods and Warring States are full of social turbulence and feudatories merger in China’s history. During this time, Ba and Chu are not only enemies but also allies. They both won and lost, entangled for a very long time. This intensified conflict and vagaries of relationship also accelerated the combination of communication between the two cultures. Finally, the Ba lost the war and most of its land so that the two nations developed from material culture into the spirit culture penetration. Firstly they borrowed each other’s culture, increased dramatically. And finally made a combination culture of Ba culture and Chu culture which are close but not same with both of them. And it was called the "Ba Chu culture". The Ba Chu culture is not simply summed by the Ba culture and Chu culture. Instead, it was a new mixed regional culture by long term mixing and penetrating of the two cultures.Both the Ba people and the Chu people are the ones of the most who have enterprising spirit people in the ancient China. Bu Chu culture influenced the later development and growth of throughout the southern land of China’s Chu culture. Until now the Ba Chu culture still exists in the Yichang area. Enough to see the powerful life and extended vitality of the Ba Chu culture. The Ba Chu culture has carried forward the enterprising spirit, whose people shared truly Aesthetic emotions. These features are fully demonstrated in a series of symbol forms of Ba Chu culture. During the art of magical Tiger Block wind seat, beautiful Tiger seat phoenix frame drum, the vivid lines of phoenix, dragon and tiger in the phoenix fighting two tigers and a dragon silk art, the pavilions of the "Diaojiao Lou", fantasy imagination in "Chuci" by Quyuan and romantic fairy tail of "Gaotangfu" and "Shennufu" by Songyu, etc. So many arts represent the deep art charm and its unique cultural value. And this aesthetic value is very worthy of further excavation and heritage.Compared with traditional landscape, the modern landscape design has changed a lot. The most important is the changes in landscape of the people from the royal nobles, rich merchants into the common ones. So that the forms,functions, types of the modern landscape has adjusted and developed. The landscape design is the most comprehensive during the all kinds of designs. Not only with the application of modern technology, but also the awareness of ecological environment and the concept of sustainable development in designed area. Even in some respects, landscape planning and design also acts a pioneering role. And this comprehensive art could place the viewers into the art, feeling the form of time and space. The language which is similar to Ba Chu culture form of symbol accepted by the nation will improve the quality of modern landscape design.This traditional form of symbols should also be applied in the modern landscape design. Materializing and visualizing these traditional cultural ideology in modern design, will evoke personal and national memory, and thus show and carry forward the national spirit, and improve the common aesthetic. This paper discusses the meaning and method of the Bachu culture forms of symbolism applied in the modern landscape design. And advocates renew the modern design techniques based on the traditional form of symbols. And create a new vision image that within the traditional cultural connotation which meets with the modern aesthetic requirements.
