Gear transmission system is a widely used and typical mechanical transmission device, into the21st century, economic globalization and market competition intensified, independent innovation; innovation can become the length of time in the fierce market competition invincible key factors. While the traditional gear transmission system design repeats calculate, modeling, seriously affected work products design efficiency and quality. Parametric design technology is the important technologies in subsequent development of CAD. The parameterized design is a whole process from the analyses of function to the creation of parameterized models.Parametric design of the root assembly should be built on top of the parametric design of the parts. The parameters designed and geometric model should be planned and managed according to the assembly relationship of mechanical products. That can ensure that the relating and delivering of the data are intact and certain during the design process, in order to complete the parametric design of complete machine products. This paper utilizes APDL language tools of ANSYS to create cylindrical gears, bearings, gear shafts and other parts and makes all the parts assembled together using ANSYS assembly function.Then the three-dimensional parametric modeling of the transmission drive system is built up.Along with the development of modern science and technology progress, many mechanical equipment and systems of work undertaken more complicated, the use of products more places, more harsh environment, wide on the reliability of the product, so also higher. Reliability is the measure of the product quality is an important index, is directly affect production, safety, economy. In this paper, FMEA analysis is used to identify the important components and main failure modes in the gear transmission system. And, the reliability has been calculated for the main failure of each component. Then, considerring the correlation between failure modes, the RD new theory is used to make the system reliability analysis and calculation.VC++is the most widely used high-level language in China, and is a powerful tool for software development. In this paper, VC++language programming has been used to achieve programmed calculate of the systematic reliability of a gear transmission system, and the VC++platform has also been used for encapsulating the source program and setting the human workspace. If this program is applied in project, it can be greatly save money and time of design, and enhance the efficiency.
