Skeletal structure is a structure system to link a number of bars together and bear the external load by riveting, bolting, welding or other means. With the development of economic construction and raising level of science and technology, it is more complicated in civil engineering, aviation, shipbuilding and many other areas of the problem of structural analysis. Especially those with specific shapes and function of complex bearing systems analysis of skeletal structures have strong value of academic research and engineering application.In this context of this paper, according to bar finite element theory, under MFC framework, uses Visual C++.NET language to develop a practical finite element analysis system of skeletal structures, to handle a variety of complex conditions of static analysis of skeletal structures. First, the paper describes the form of structure and classification of bar and beam, describes the development of the finite element method and current situation, describes an overview of the finite element program design; then derives a variety of rod element stiffness matrix in detail, summarizes and lists the loads, displacement of load bearing and temperature loads on the structure of rods, summarizes analysis methods for solving linear equations. And then, a modular finite element programming is used by MFC and Visual C++.NET on the system of skeletal structure. Finally, this paper presents three examples of finite element analysis of skeletal structures, and the results solved by this system are analyzed and compared with the calculation results of ANSYS.The main features of this system is object-oriented programming approach introduced in a finite element analysis system, so that the finite element analysis programs are easier to write, and it also facilitate expansion and maintenance in future, there are more reusable components in program code. This not only improves the rod finite element function of the system, and data models and computer models and real-world physics model are consistent, and it is easier integration with other CAE systems.With the further development of computer technology, finite element software in the actual project is wider and wider. This system of finite element analysis of skeletal structures is precise in simulation, easy to operate, and more accurate, and it lays the foundation for the future development of large finite element systems.
