Proving grounds correlation base on the equivalent fatigue damage theory was widely applied in passenger vehicle and commercial vehicle industry. But it hasn’t been used in trailer industry as some factors of late start, imitation design and low update speed of products. With domestic trailer industry growing faster and stronger and international competition more serious, independent R&D capability become more important. Durability performance is very important to trailer whose main function is loading and transportation, so it is also very important and necessary to research test method of durability.The article came from an actual project which is a proving ground correlation work base on a heavy semi-trailer in a company. The whole research also base on equivalent fatigue damage theory, and research all process from data acquisition, data analysis and processing to correlation calculation, the software Glyphworks of nCode Ltd. UK was used. The article will introduce the actual processing method, and develop and create a calculated method of damage degree assessment base on the character of semi-trailer. The new method substitute the traditional way which is assessing the correlation results according to engineer’s experience.This research has big instructive and important function to company and domestic trailer industry. First, it is the first time that applying in domestic trailer industry which will establish the foundation of further R&D. Second, the new assessment method hasn’t been found in other domestic thesis and literature, it could be said that this is a significative and daring experiment in domestic specialty vehicle industry.
