A DC loop existing in electrical appliance is usually supplied by the power supply module of the electrical appliance through the grid. In this process, it is inevitable to produce energy losses. The DC power can be generated by photovoltaic cells. Therefore, this paper made an investigation on the technology by means of which the photovoltaic cells power directly the electrical appliance’s DC loop. Compared with other technologies of photovoltaic, it can eliminate the inverting stage of the output of a photovoltaic cell and the rectifying in electrical appliance. As a result, it is able to reduce the energy losses and eliminate the need for inverting circuit.This paper proposes a topological in order to realize the technology that electrical appliance’s DC-loop is directly supplied by photovoltaic and the design of system is completed. Firstly, this paper have analyzed several optional DC/DC converters and summed up the key factors in the selection of converters according to the contrastive study on different kinds of DC/DC converters. Then they are applied to different places in the system according to different features.It also introduces the topological structure and operating principle of the converter powered by PV in detail, establishes the small-signal model and characterizes the simulation analysis. This paper also analyzes the critical circuit of system in the worst case and obtains the method of selecting device accuracy in the actual circuit.The topological and working processes of the system are analyzed. This paper designs the rules of energy management that the power mode of PV cells branch and AC220V electricity are complementary. This paper adopts TMS3210F2812DSP of TI’s digital signal processor as the center process unit and sets up the experimental platform that photovoltaic cells power directly the electrical appliance’s DC loop. At the end, the system consisting of photovoltaic cells, accumulator and AC is debugged systematically and integrally. This system can reduce the losses and costs of traditional stand-alone PV system and improve the utilization of solar energy. The platform is able to achieve better technical effects.
