For deep or shallow sea, mooring system of FPSO is very important in Ocean Engineering. For shallow water, soft yoke mooring system is considered one of the best choice at present. FPSO is affected by complex environmental loads as wind, wave and flow, its state of motion is uncertain; for shallow water.mooring system not only needs to provide the FPSO a certain space, but to provide fit mooring force. Previous studies pay more attention to the floating structure, and often overlooked the soft yoke structure; so the problem with this is that, due to some unpredictable situation, soft yoke often occur structural failure. This article was on the background of the soft yoke mooring system horizontal swing which was monitored in project’FPSO soft yoke mooring system on-site monitoring’, aimed at the BH Pearl FPSO soft yoke mooring system in China’s’BH25-1’oil field, through on-site monitoring results analysis, mechanical analysis and ADAMS simulation, the author got the reason of substantial swing mechanism was the resonance in the transverse direction. And on this basis we combined soft yoke specific forms and features analysis and compared the applicability of three passive vibration damping method. Finally, we designed a rational and effective control scheme for the vibration damping control of active soft yoke mooring system and not put to use soft yoke mooring system transformation recommendations. The content of this paper include the following aspects:The first part briefly presented the background and significance of this research and clarifies the content.Chapter1researched the transverse resonance mechanism of soft yoke mooring system.Chapter2determined the passive vibration damping method as the soft yoke control scheme and analyzed three kinds of passive vibration damping principle as well as their applicability on the soft yoke.Chapter3confirmed the adaptive scheme was TLD and research it in detail. Conclusion part summarized the whole works.
