Induced draft fan is one of the three auxiliary machinery inthermal power plantsfan,it is a kind of machinery which converts the mechanical energy of the originalmotivation into the energy of gas transportation, at the same time gives the gas energy. The running of induced draft fan is more and more important to the safe and stableoperation of the thermal power plant,Due to the relatively harsh operating conditionsof induced dratf fan, Fan blades inevitably produce dust deposit phenomenon, foulingis easy to cause vibration. In this paper we had studied the application of nozzletechnique to prevent producing induced dratf fan variable condition vibration.A three-dimensional model of the induced draft fan required was established bythe Pro/ENGINEER sotfware. Then the internal three-dimensional lfow field of theinduced dratf fan was simulated by the FLUENT sotfware. At ifrst the centrifugal fanblades of veneer and wing were simulated by FLUENT software. According to theanalysis we ifnd that the wing type blades have good fluid dynamic characteristics.Veneer type blades usually cause vibration due to dust deposit, which affects the safeoperation of the fan.Secondly, the internal lfow field of the induced dratf fan which under differentloads were simulated by the FLUENT sotfware. The result will provide a referencefor the next device design. Finally, Jet nozzle device was installed for induced draft fan, When the boilerload and the flow of the nozzle were all changed, Centirfugal fan intenral flow ifeldwas simulated by FLUENT software. The best sweep effect of lfow was obtained. The effects of changing the nozzle angle were simulated. The effects of fan loads tothe best angle and the effects of nozzle lfow to the best angle were obtained. At thesame time the best nozzle angle was obtained, and complete automatic control of theentire apparatus. The application has been veirfied. Energy conservation as a prerequisite, fan vibration frequency are reduced and the boiler operation time wasincerased, which has practical signiifcance to the power plant operation.
