With the development of industry, the technical level of vehicle is graduallyimproved, people pay more and more attention to car’s riding comfort. Whether thePerformance of car’s Suspension is good or bad influent the ride comfort directly,suspension can pass all kinds of force and moment transfer device.This article take a McPherson suspension of leading precursor car as the researchobject, based on multi-rigid-body system dynamics theory, using MSC.ADAMSsoftware on McPherson suspension carried the kinematics of the virtual prototypemodeling, simulation analysis and optimization, in order to improve the car’s ridecomfort. The main work is as follows:First of all, this paper takes a basic introduction on types and functions of vehiclesuspension, and talk about the common research method on suspension. Detailing themulti-system dynamics, mainly including: the history of the development, the mainresearch method, the basic principles and methods of establishing model and thesolution process. Also including preliminary introduction of the software, establishingmodel process of ADAMS/CAR, in order to have a preliminary understanding aboutthis software.Secondly, the paper through the detailed analysis about the structure of theMcPherson suspension, master all parameters’ information of each part, and createMcPherson front suspension model and test rig of virtual prototype based onADAMS/CAR. Making double synchronous beat incentive simulation test on model,and using the function of ADAMS/PostProcessor to draw the changing curve of wheelalignment parameter. Through the detailed thorough analysis of the curve of the wheelalignment parameters, finding out the deficiencies of suspension and preparing thefurther optimization for suspension.Finally, using the Insight module of ADAMS/CAR to optimize and deal with thevirtual simulation model, to experience and design the guiding mechanism ofsuspension and finding out the important factor which influent the wheel alignmentparameters, ultimately, making optimization design on suspension guide mechanism. In order to realize the optimization design of the suspension, making all changecurves of suspension’s parameters in the reasonable scope.So this paper mainly focused on the vehicle front suspension, through theanalysis and compare of the simulation results to change the parameters of suspension,and improve the car’s ride comfort.
