| Along with the popularity of automotive in the family, the situation that childoccupants travel by car becomes more and more popular. As a result, moreattention should be paid to the child safety problem. According to the survey, onlythe child safety seat is correctly used during the traffic accident, the death and injuryof child occupant could be significantly decreased, but the misuse problem still existsin the traditional child safety seat. The integrated child safety seat is designed as apart of the vehicle seat and the child occupant could be restraint by the adult safe-belt,which could reduce the misuse of the child safety seat effectively. However, most ofthe existed integrated child safety seat should be adjusted by the users and are notautomatic and accurate enough.The control system of an existed integrated child safety seat is designedaccording to the structure and protection mechanism of the seat, and the seat couldbe adjusted to an appropriate location based on occupant characteristic. As a result,the child occupant could be protected adequately by the adult safety-belt, and thiscontrol system could also remember the seat position and recognize the ride status.Firstly, the protection mechanisms of the integrated child safety seat wereanalyzed in this paper, and the concept of "child safe ride height†was introduced.The formula was derived based on the occupant characteristic, while the structuralof the integrated child safety seat was briefly introduced. The control systemscheme was designed according to the economic and functional requirements.Secondly, based on the control system scheme, the hardware circuit of thecontrol system, including the seat ECU and the remote control, was designed, andthe hardware selection, circuit design of each functional modules were described indetail. Then the hardware board of the control system was developed by ProtelDXP2004software. According to the hardware circuit designed, the softwareprogram was developed with C language and each part was described in detail.Finally, the control system was verified, including the remote control part andthe seat ECU part. According to the technical and design requirements, the testscheme was designed and results were analyzed. The test results showed that the seatcould be adjusted to the appropriate location automatically based on occupantcharacteristic by the control system, and could remember the seat position and recognize the ride status.The system is simple, economical and reliable. |
