Automobile rear axle is a component of both carrying capacity and conducting force, and at the same time, it is also the housing of main reducer, differential and drive wheel gears. When the vehicle runs, axle housing undergoes the complex and heavy load, so the axle housing must be of sufficient strength and stiffness under dynamic and static loads. The object of this dissertation is Dajiang Ⅱ rear axle, and its mechanical simulation analysis and optimization design is made in this dissertation. Specific research contents are as follows.(1)3D modeling software PRO/E is used to build geometric model of the axle housing. ANSYS Mechanical is use to analyze the structural strength under the conditions of the vertical force, lateral force, driving force and braking force, respectively. Results show that strength and stiffness of the rear axle meet the requirements.(2)ANSYS dynamic analysis module is used to make vibration mode, harmonic response and response spectrum analyses of automobile drive rear axle. ANSYS Mechanical is used to make structural analysis of drive rear axle under different working conditions. Results show that drive rear axle can not resonate due to road exciting.(3)Based on the criterion of Guideline for the Certification of wind Turbines used for fatigue calculation, S-N curve is achieved through the calculation. Then loading load spectrum and simulating for the case of driving axle bridge housing fatigue. Load FE-SAFE analysis result file into ANSYS get fatigue analysis post-processing simulation results.(4) Base on engineering practice and experimental results, ANSYS optimization design module-Design Exploration is used to optimize and design the thickness of automobile drive rear axle, and response surface analysis and goal-driven optimization analysis are used to optimize automobile drive rear axle and achieve the best thickness of automobile drive rear axle. Under the premise of satisfying the requirements of security and usability performance of automobile drive rear axle, a lightweight design of the rear axle is achieved to get a better car rear axle structure.
