With the development of global science and technology, economy,culture, human civilization has reached a brilliant stage. But the verge ofenergy depletion is becoming increasingly intense for an unprecedentedenergy crisis. In today’s world environment, related to environment,energy security and economic prosperity is a direct impact on the worldsituation. Therefore how to save energy or improve energy utilization hasbeen highly valued. The motor industry consumes most industrialelectricity in many countries, and occupies a large proportion of the totalelectricity consumption in the whole country, so energy-saving potential isenormous and how to better test motor efficiency has been paid highlyattention. In this paper, we design a set of the motor test system to testadditional losses based on Eh-star, which is a new algorithm.Eh-star approach has been assessed by international standards, as oneof the new method of testing additional losses of three-phaseasynchronous motor. The algorithm reflects the characteristics of thecomplex operation, the application of positive and negative sequencecomponents. And finally we get the formula of the derivation of theadditional losses. Studies have shown that Eh-star method on thealgorithm has a certain complexity, but the feasibility is still high. In orderto achieve the application of this method in the laboratory, we proposedhardware design circuit. The most central part of Eh-star method is theadditional resistance, which needs repeated testing, so severalhigh-precision resistors and resistor tester are used in the design tocoordinate the system. Amounts of data are collected by electricalparameter tester, such as voltage, current, power, speed. Through PLCcontrol system, these data shall be processed by host computer. As the cost is low and operability is high, the completion in laboratory is well.We use SIMATIC WinCC to get interface control and display. WinCChas the function to control the automated process, and it is easy tocombine standard to establish human-machine interface with users. It hasa wide range of applications and high compatibility, and applies to theoffice and manufacturing systems. Provide reliable and mature operationand efficient configuration. This paper describes how to achievecommunication based on WinCC and PLC and how to get displayinterface configuration.The paper generally is summarized as follows: We design a motor testsystem by using Eh-star method, which is a new method of testingaddition losses in the world, and SIMATIC WinCC system. It hasinnovative algorithms, hardware design, and high test feasibility in thelaboratory, and is not affordable.
