Rolling bearing is an important part of the industrial application system, and the fault caused by rolling bearing is an important reason to cause equipment failure. Therefore, the fault diagnosis technology for rolling bearing is of great significance. The development of rolling bearing condition monitoring and fault diagnosis changes the traditional regular repair method to predict repair method. It not only can prevent the mechanical degradation of system performance, reduce traffic accidents, but also can avoid the waste of the available components, so it is of vital significance to maximize the working ability of rolling bearing.In this paper, firstly, the various main failure forms and causes as well as the vibration principle are introduced. The natural vibration frequency and theory fault defect frequency are analyzed and calculated. The vibration signal feature under various fault conditions is summarized. Secondly, all kinds of the vibration signal analysis method applied to fault diagnosis of rolling bearing, including time domain parameter diagnosis method, shock pulse method (SPM) and envelope demodulation method, are elaborated in detail and the characteristics of each method are compared. Thirdly, based on the depth study of the vibration signal analysis method and the preparation of calculating program, the on-line monitoring and fault diagnosis system of rolling bearing is developed by VC++.NET. The basic train of thought of system, the development platform, database and the development of each function module are elaborated in detail. Finally, the application of this system is illustrated in detail through analysis of examples. The system can collect the vibration signal of rolling bearing, display the signal in real time, analysis and process the vibration signal through the various methods. So it can achieve the goal of final realization of rolling bearing on line monitoring and fault diagnosis. Through analysis of examples, that the fault form is diagnosis of effectively by the system verified the correctness of the system.
