Urban waterfront landscape has always been a city for human habitation and gatherenvironmental construction eternal theme, but now in China, its development mainly reflectsin the environmental remediation and landscaping on the waterfront, and focuses on the waterpollution remediation, waterfront green landscape planning and design, land featurestransition appreciation, ignores the integrity and continuity of the urban form of the city space,does not proceed from the point of view of the structural adjustment of urban functions.Facing up to the needs and challenges, revival regeneration historical and cultural of citywaterfront landscape that are disappearing, remediation city natural waterfront landscape thathas ruined, meet the needs of the times to create an unprecedented urban waterfront landscape,these are precisely the today’s urban waterfront landscape planning and design should be thefocus of attention.This paper elaborated the factors related concept design and impact of waterfront spacefrom waterfront space planning theory, literature researched and field researched on the WeiRiver in Xinxiang, analyzed the whole section of the Wei River and Wei River the coresegment waterfront space landscape status, identified problems, drawing on the lessons of theriverside landscape construction at home and abroad, proposed design objectives andprinciples against the Wei River waterfront space based on the following: First, overall graspof the relationship between the river and the city from the city level, as a guide to the overallurban planning, from the macro-level adjustment and to determine the structure of land usealong the river, and put forward the concept of river landscape and landscape zoning plan,provided the basis for the different sections of the meso-landscape and micro-landscapeplanning and design. Second, focused on the Wei River urban core segment meso levellandscape planning and design studies, on the basis of studies the urban core section of landuse and landscape resources status quo, to find its own characteristics and strengths, and itsweak point, proposed reasonable and with operability along the land use structure planningand adaptation with landscape themes and planning and design programs for the microscopiclandscape planning and design to provide the basis.
