With the increase in the construction of high-rise buildings and large-span bridges, large diameter bored cast-in-situ piles have been widely used in practice because of its technical advantages. However, due to concerns of relating to the decrease of side friction and end resistance arising from the construction, post grouting has been employed to improve the bearing capacity as well decrease the settlement of the piles.On the basis of the analysis of improvement mechanism of the post grouting, the bearing capacity and deformation behavior of the grouted pile are studied by field experiment, theoretical analysis and numerical simulation.The improvement mechanism of post grouting is analyzed in this paper. The theories of permeating grouting, compacting grouting and fracturing grouting are introduced. The effect of the grouting penetration along the pile shaft is also studied. The calculation methods of the ultimate capacity of the grouted pile are summarized in the paper.The behavior of the grouted pile is studied with FEM and the influencing parameters are also studied in this paper.The key point in the design and construction of the grouted pile is summarized in this paper. The design of capacity, grouting pressure, grouting amount, construction sequence and terminal conditions are presented in this paper. The matters need attention and preventive measures are also proposed.
