Guizhou province is the important energy provider of the power transmissionfrom west to east strategy, thermal power industry developing exponentially, get a lotof power supply, at the same time, produce a lot of fly ash,occuping land and pollutionenvironmnet. Developing comprehensive utilization technology of using fly ash inroad can substantially improve the utilization level of fly ash in Guizhou province,promote economic development, and meeting the industrial guidance policy in guizhouprovince.First, this paper investigated the main power plants and its fly ash production andutilization amount in Guizhou province, summarizes the main distribution of fly ash inGuizhou province, and according to the distribution of fly ash and the plan ofexpressway net in Guizhou province selected five power plants’ fly ash which arerepresentative, to carring the the fly ash’s physical performances and chemical indexes,mechanical characteristics and the engineering characteristics study, and the basicperformance parameters of fly ash was obtained, and combine with standardevaluationed the applicability of fly ash as the raw material using in road.Using finite element software PLAXIS carried out the pure fly ash embankmentand high-flow pattern fly ash backfilling roadbed’s numerical simulation, analyzed thefly ash embankment and high-flow pattern fly ash backfilling body’s stability, stressand deformation characteristics, and compared with other soil filling materials’ stability,stress and deformation characteristics, combined with the geographical conditions,geological and climate characteristics in Guizhou province, comprehensivelly analyzedthe applicability of using fly ash filling embankment and high-flow pattern fly ashbackfilling roadbed in highway construction in Guizhou province.According to the cement and fly ash stabilized macadam mixtures which wasmade of fly ash that was output of Guizhou province, carried out a series of laboratorytests, and analyzed its way-use performance, and compared with the cement stablemacadam mixture’s way-use performance, combined with the climate environment andhydrological, geological conditions of Guizhou province, comprehensivelly analyzedthe applicability of using cement and fly ash stabilized macadam paving roadbase inhighway construction in Guizhou province.This paper evaluated the social benefit, environmental benefits and economicbenefits bring by massive using fly ash in highway construction in Guizhou province, calculated the engineering economy brings by using fly ash instead of other materialsin the same position in engineering, combined with the engineering economy putsforward the economic haul distance of the fly ash. According to the plan of expresswaynet in Guizhou province and the power plants’ position and the fly ashes’ actualsituation, compiled the《The application guidelines of power plants’ fly ash along theexpressway in Guizhou》.This paper on the basic of summarizes the domestic and foreign’s fly ash usingways in the road engineering and usage, combining with the actual situation of fly ashand present situation of highway construction in Guizhou province, studied theapplicability of using fly ash in highway construction. The results showed that usingfly ash in road in Guizhou province is feasible, and developed a new way for thecomprehensive utilization of fly ash, developed a new road material for highwayconstruction in Guizhou province.
