With Chinese economic and social development, more and more people have theirown cars. Rapidly increased in the amount of cars lead the enormous pressure on urbantransportation and a serious noise problem to residents living near the road. It hasbecome a public nuisance to people’s health.Based on the traffic noise survey in Chongqing city, this paper studies the trafficnoise source and propagation mechanism by using abaqus and virtualLab.Acoustic. Thetire road noise simulation model is established. The simulation model of tire road noiseis analyzed from the two aspects of the frequency domain and time-domain simulation.The main research contents and methods include:①Analyze the characteristics of the urban road traffic noise through data analysis,including the definition of urban noise, the evaluation of urban traffic noisemeasurement methods and related standards.②The main source of vehicle noise and the generation mechanism including:engine noise, exhaust noise and tire road noise. The way is proposed that how toseparate tire noise from the noise source by vehicle source identification experimentsand related theory.③In order to study deeply of the tire sound field characteristics generated by roadthis paper establish of a tire sound field simulation model by combing structural finiteelement and acoustic finite element. At last, this paper gets the tire near sound fieldsound pressure characteristics and the field point response function④The city traffic noise attenuation law is showed by investigation andmonitoring of the two roads in the city of Chongqing. The law is along the road and thevertical direction. According to the traffic noise source and propagation mechanism, themain methods of prevention and control of urban traffic noise are proposed.
