With the rapid increase of people’s material living standards, people are increasingly high demands for cars, they pay more attention to the comfort and safety performance of the car. How can cost-effectively improve vehicle stability and smooth performance, is a big challenge in front of the car manufacturers. One of the most critical car systems is the suspension system. The suspension system play a role of relieve external shocks and make a greater impact to the vehicle handling stability, ride performance and service life.Based on multi-body dynamics theory, with the use of mechanical system dynamic simulation software ADAMS, a small car virtual model of a Motor Co. Ltd. had been established and simulated. By modified the location of the key points of its parameters, the smaller space double wishbone suspension system was established and its various positioning parameters were analyzed and compared. We established rear suspension system, steering system, tire system, horizontal stabilizer bar and body system to be assembled to get the vehicle dynamics model of the car. The vehicle dynamics model had been simulated by serpiform condition, angle step, angle pulse, steady state the circumference, steering portability experiment. Compared the real vehicle handling stability test data and the ADAMS/Car vehicle model simulation data to verify the correctness of the previously established vehicle dynamics model.Vehicle model and virtual four-post test rig were assembled into the vehicle’s ride comfort virtual prototype. The car was controlled with a different speed at a constant speed in randomly generated Class B road to test the vibration acceleration by the road roughness in driver seat. At the speed of60km/h. vehicle travelled in the different levels on the roads to get the vertical vibration acceleration and the acceleration power spectrum curve. The vertical acceleration response curve were obtained by the pulse input. These curves can show person’s subjective feelings, in order to evaluate the vehicle’s smooth performance.
