The Effect Of Minimalism On The Creation Of Interior Landscape’s Artistic Conception

This essay analyzed Chinese modern landscape design industry’s “westernization”phenomenon and the present situation of the inheritance of classical Chinese garden’sdesign thought. The author found that modern landscape architecture in the west wasmore popular for the reason that it could satisfy the modern people’s demand of openspace better. But compared with classical Chinese garden design, it was inferior incultural concern and artistic conception. The domestic landscape designer should bearthe responsibility to create an unique way of designing Chinese modern landscapewhich conforms to our country’s national condition and characters, which meet thefunctional and spiritual needs of modern space.By analyzing the difference between western modern landscape and classicalChinese garden, the author found that the minimalism landscape of western modernlandscape has many similarities with traditional garden artistic conception, no matter inphilosophical basis, design way or aesthetic approaches. Then the author organizedminimalism landscape’s historical origin and philosophical basis in system andcompared it to “artistic conception”of the Chinese classical gardens from thephilosophical level and aesthetic view. Then the author researched the feasibility andsignificance of applying the minimalism in China modern landscape construction.As the closest part connecting with people’s life in green space system, interiorlandscape’s pace of development has increasingly accelerated, companying increasinglyproblems. Among them, the contradictions between the pursuit of artistic conceptionand the indoor environment’s limitation are the most outstanding problems that shouldbe solved urgently. To solve it, we need to choose an appropriate design language.Asthe new language of the construction of artistic conception, Minimalism perfectlyintegrates the interior landscape’s concise form and profound thought under the guide of a concept--"less is more". It create an infinite space of artistic conception in indoorlimited space.At last, combining with two examples, the author analyzed how to create aninterior landscape artistic conception under the influence of minimalism in order toprovide a reference basis for the creation of artistic conception in modern interiorlandscape design in china.
