Power performance and fuel economy are important performance indicators ofthe vehicle, a good match for the power system has a significant effect on improvingthe vehicle’s power performance and economy. In the conventional matching method,repeated modification of drive parameter and experiments are required in order todetermine the final plan of vehicle, which does not only make the design cycle long,cost a large amount of manpower, material and financial resources, but also achieve athe powertrain unreasonable match because of frequent omission of the best drivelinematch. With the continuous development of computer technology, it is possible tooptimize the driveline match through simulation. This can not only shorten the designcycle and save the cost of development and testing, but also predict the performanceof the developed vehicle. Taking some domestic truck as the research object andcentering on match optimization of drive transmission parameter, this paper developsthe following research:1. Analysis and evaluation of the existing vehicle power and fuel economyindex, and on this basis advance the evaluation index system for the powerperformance and fuel economy of the vehicle.2.Mainly along the truck’s power transmission, in the CRUISE platform, buildsimulation model of the whole vehicle, simulate every index of the powerperformance and fuel economy, and verify the accuracy and reliability of the modelby the real vehicle road test, which provides the computer base for the subsequentoptimization.3. Aiming at the better value of power performance and economy for A truckand B truck, among many optimization of truck power transmission that makes up ofthe existing transmission and main reducer and tire program by cross combination,determine the best optimization of the truck by CRUISE simulation and comparativeanalysis.4. By the real vehicle test validation, all power and economy indexes of thefinal match for truck’s drive transmission meet the goal, which shows the optimizationstudy of drive transmission on power performance and economy is effective andfeasible for the truck development and design.
