Vortex flowmeter is a new type of fluid vibration flowmeter which is developed in the late1960s. Because of the many advantages of piezoelectric test components, stress type vortex flowmeter got rapid development since the late1970’s. In our country, the stress type vortex flowmeter products account for high market share and become the leading one. But nowadays there has not a simple and effective method to test the quality and characteristics of the sensor, this paper is proposed in order to solve this problem.This paper first briefly introduces the working principle of vortex flowmeter, and then introduces the structure of the piezoelectric vortex sensors, then puts forward some performance parameters that impact the flow measuring, including:the inherent frequency, sensitivity, dead zone characteristics, distortion degree and temperature characteristic, etc. Design the hardware system of vortex sensor characteristic analysis, and using Lab VIEW platform design the software system for vortex sensor characteristic analysis. Finally discuss the vibration sensor national standard of performance parameters, thereby, make out the preliminary standards of the sensor probe. The main contents of this paper are as follows:(1)Design a set of hardware system that produces alternating lift and asignal generator, incentiving vortex sensor work; design the hardware system that detects vortex signal, in order to get the response datas from the vortex sensor.(2)According to the analysis foundation of the structure of vortex sensor, working principle and practical application roblems, propose a series of performance parameters that may affect the measurement precision of the vortex sensor.(3)Design a set of PC communications software, using the programming language of graphical LabVIEW; establish a software platform to analyze and evaluate the performances of the sensor.(4)Analysis the detected datas, and evaluate the characteristics of vortex sensor.
