With the rapid development of China’s automobile industry, the volume of production and sales of automobile has maintained explosive growth, thus stimulating the booming development of China’s automotive logistics industry. Especially the volume of production and sales of passenger vehicle makes the vehicle logistics as an important part in the automobile industry chain. Therefore, vehicle logistics has become one of the most promising logistics industries. However, there are still many problems in China’s vehicle logistics enterprises, such as small in scale, scattered in location, low in efficiency and high in transportation costs etc. At the same time, many foreign logistics giants also have a huge impact on the automotive logistics enterprises in China, making domestic vehicle logistics enterprises face a severe test. The cooperation in the field of vehicle logistics has become the main theme of the industry, and the establishment of logistics alliance has become an inevitable trend. Whether the revenue allocation mechanism of vehicle logistics alliance is fair and rational, not only affect whether the rights and interests of the members in alliance can be guaranteed, but also directly determine the play of productivity and creativity of the members of alliance. Therefore, this paper, on the basis of research results of domestic and foreign scholars and combined with the characteristics of the vehicle logistics, has made a study on revenue allocation issues of vehicle logistics enterprises alliance based on principal-agent theory.Firstly, this paper introduced the principal-agent theory and made a comparative analysis on the common methods of revenue allocation, thus laying a solid theoretical foundation for the following analysis;Secondly, this paper analyzed the characteristics, development status and problems of China’s vehicle logistics in detail. Meanwhile, it also analyzed the model, necessity, feasibility, motivation and revenue allocation issues of vehicle logistics alliance systematically;Thirdly, this paper, on the basis of the model assumptions, established the vehicle logistics alliance revenue allocation model under the symmetric information and asymmetric information, based on principal-agent theory. And the results of the revenue allocation in both cases are analyzed in-depth. The analysis showed:the revenue allocation model based on principal-agent theory can improve the effort level of both sides and alliance’s total revenue. At the same time, the relationship between revenue allocation coefficients and effort level of both sides and the parameters in model are identified. After a comparative analysis, it is found that the asymmetry of information will reduce not only the effort level of both, but also affect the revenue; Finally, an example is given. The revenue allocation model is applied to the enterprise through the investigation for vehicle logistics enterprises. The model parameters are determined according to the actual situation, thus verifying validity of the method.
