Study On Network Organization Of The Road Freight Transportation

With the rapid development of information network technologies, network organizationas a new organizational mode, has become the main progressing direction of21st centuryenterprise and been used widely in various commercial areas. In transportation industrydomain, the network organization mode has matured in air transportation and ocean shipping.Railway transport, due to its own technical characteristics, itself has the function of networkorganization. Road transport, resorting to its well-developed highway network and flexibility,is able to provide door to door transport service and is more adapted to network organization.At present, Road freight transport in China, comparing with other freight transport means, isin highest marketization level. In freight market domain, there are lots of minor enterprisesand individual freight owners with decentralized management and low transportationefficiency. In the policy of scale and networking oriented development, the problems such ashow to promote the networking of road freight transport and which mode is more adapted tonetworking transportation, are urgent to be solved.In this paper, starting from the basic theory of network organization, by integrating withthe characteristics of road transport, the meaning of road freight network organization isproposed, as well as its functioning basis and mechanism. By analyzing the domestic roadfreight infrastructure, market and network organization’s current situation, an initial tentativeidea is proposed for road freight organization mode. Moreover, based on a deep analysis ofvirtual enterprise mode, chain operation mode and strategic alliance mode, a specificoperation mode is put forward for road freight network organization. In the end, the keyfactors which influence the formation of the domestic road freight organization pattern andsuggestions of political guarantee is eventually analyzed and concluded.
