The concrete-filled steel tube arch bridge is a kind of bridge type which use newmaterials. Since it has unique mechanical performance、carrying capacity greatly beingimproved. Plus its larger spanning capacity、perfect plastic and seismic performance andbeautiful modelling structure, etc. So in recent years, the concrete-filled steel tube arch bridgehas been widely used and development in China.Arch abutments as power transmissioncomponents arch ribs is particularly important. The forces of arch abutments falso get moreattention.This article through establish the finite element model to get numerically solveing andstudy the influence that produced by the section shape of the arch rib,the length of the arch springing and the number of arch rib respectively in the axial force and bending moment toarch abutments. It also research the forces of arch abutments in practical projects andreinforcement. The main results are as follows:(1)The skewback either axial force or bending moment, which in most regions in thelow stress level。Only the surrounding of arch feet in skewback is the high stress area and nearthe arch of the foot emergence stress concentration phenomenon. It is the same in the actualproject.(2) Axial force on the arch by far greater than the bending moment. The skewbackmainly exposed to stress and under a small tensile stress in the axial force; Skewbackwithstand bending tensile stress is greater than the axial force near the.arch of the foot.(3) When the cross section form of the main arch ribs is a circular、The depth of the Ribinsert skewback is about four meters and Rib root number(except three) is four. No matter thetensile stress or compressive stress, the force on arch of large spanconcrete filled steel tubulararch bridge is the most reasonable and uniform.(4) Through the arch of a stress vector drawing,It shows that under the effect of axialforce and the arch feet areas surrounding the main arch abutments and arch feet under verticalcompressive stress and pressure and stress direction of vertical stress; The arch feet under thebottom area of the main arch abutments and arch feet vertical compressive stress and facewith vertical compressive stress and vertical45°and the tensile stress. And in counterclockwise bending moment, arch abutments mainly in the arch feet under his feetweeks area with vertical compressive stress and near his feet and next bear vertical stress.Therefore, we need to foot arch ring around reinforced to bear decorate tensile stress, decorateand arch feet vertical reinforced to bear compressive stress. Arch abutments and arch feetdecorate the bottom surface of the vertical of compressive and45°and vertical the tensilesteel. which is a more reasonable, stress arch safety.
