Fire is one of the major secondary disasters, its lead to huge losses of persons andproperties. Although, concrete structures better than the other structures on the fire resistance,but the same can’t be ignored. The researches of concrete beams under high temperature havestudied at domestic and abroad, but have little of the researches of concrete columns underhigh temperature. On the other side, equipments used on the research of concrete structuresunder high temperature are requirement and expensive, and there is the risk ofhigh-temperature experiments. Therefore, the finite element method is used on the research ofthe fire resistance of concrete structures with theoretical value and engineering applications.In this paper, using finite element analysis software ABAQUS to study the temperaturefield simulation and mechanics performances of reinforced concrete columns under hightemperature.Firstly, the high temperature mechanical properties of steel and concrete of these twomaterials are described. And findings of the scholars at domestic and abroad on the hightemperature mechanical performances of these two materials are summarized.Secondly, the temperature field of reinforced concrete column is calculated in ABAQUS.And the effects of different parameters such as design fires, surfaces exposed to fire,dimensions of cross section and concrete cover are analyzed, provides same important datesto the research of the fire resistance of reinforced concrete columns.Then, based on the dates of temperature field analysis of reinforced concrete columns,the mechanical performances of reinforced concrete columns under monotonic and cyclicloads are studied in thermal-mechanical analysis of ABAQUS. The results show that themechanical properties are declining. More, the effects of different parameters such astemperature, the numbers of stirrups, axial compression ratios and concrete cover on themechanical performances of high temperature are analyzed. The results show that:temperature and concrete cover are more impact on the bearing capacity of concrete columnsand the numbers of stirrups, axial compression ratios are less impact on the bearing capacityof concrete columns.Finally, the measures to identification and reinforcement of the reinforced concrete structure after the fire at domestic and abroad are summarized; many problems ofidentification and reinforcement after fire are existed in our country.
