| Along with rapid social and economic development in Chinese cities in recentyears, private cars are gradually going into the national life. The number of motorvehicles and drivers is maintaining rapid growth. However, the drivers’ aberrant drivingbehavior occurs frequently, threatening the safety of drivers and other road users.Drivers’ aberrant driving behavior not only leads to traffic accidents, but also disruptsthe normal traffic flow. Drivers’ aberrant driving behavior causes traffic congestion, resulting in social and economic burden. Researches on drivers’ aberrant drivingbehavior are needed carrying out urgently. In this study, aberrant driving behavior discriminant indices were selected, anddriving behavior scale, driving attitude scale, driving skills scale, personality inventorywere established. Norm group and aberrant group drivers were surveyed through theonline survey. Based on the analysis of two group data obtained, analysis of Chinesemotor vehicle drivers’ driving behavior characteristics and relevant indices, as well asChinese aberrant group vehicle drivers’ aberrant driving behavior characteristics wascarried out. Based on analysis of the differences of the two group data, this studyrevised the factor items of aberrant driving behavior discriminant indices, andestablished the aberrant driving behavior discriminant indices system. The discriminantindices system could be used to distinguish characteristics, psychological characteristics, and the likelihood of aberrant driving behavior occurrence of different drivers. Thisstudy provided references for discrimination of aberrant drivers, traffic safety educationand aberrant driving behavior modification.Through analysis on norm group and aberrant group survey data, the five-factorstructure of Chinese driving behavior scale was verified and revised; thethree-dimensional structure of driving attitude scale and the two-factor structures ofdriving skill scale were verified and discussed; characteristics of association(A),independence(Q2), self-restrictive(Q3) in personality inventory of drivers wereanalyzed. Aberrant driving behavior discriminant indices system (F) was established inthis study. From the weight of the three-level indices, driving behavior indices (F1) hadthe greatest impact on the discrimination of aberrant driving behavior, followed by driving attitudes (F2), and finally driving skills (F3). Aberrant group reported a higherscore in the discriminant indices (F) than the safety group, and there were significantdifferences between these two groups. The effect of the discriminant indices system wasverified. This index could be used for discrimination of aberrant drivers. Aberrant groupdrivers reported higher discriminant indices (F) scores. Therefore, these drivers tendedto have more aberrant driving behaviors. |
