With the rapid development domestic high-speed rail transportation, the speed of thetrain is being higher and higher, the shortcomings of the traditional way of can’t meet therequirement of high-speed rail velocity measurement. Therefore, this thesis design a radarspeed measurement sensor.It base on the principal of Doppler for the high-speed rail. Thesensor get the precise speed value by estimate the power spectrum of the radar Dopplersignal relative to the ground with a proper algorithm on the hardware platform of the DSP.Firstly, this thesis describes the principal of the Doppler radar speed measurement,presents the key technology of the system design, establishes the difficulty of theprocessing of the Doppler signal. What’s more, according to the demands of domesticspeed measurement of the high-speed rail, puts forward the technical indicators andfeasibility of the design program of the system.This thesis will deeply focus on Doppler radar signal processing. Based on theanalysis about Classical spectral estimation and modern spectral estimation, theiradvantages and shortages will be compared. Themodern spectral estimation of ARparameter module will be addressed as core signal processing. Then use of MATLABsimulation Burg algorithms, and analyzes its parameter choice to the spectral estimationresults to determine the influence of the principle of selection of the parameters. At thesame time, observation spectral estimation appeared in the process of abnormalphenomenon; article analyzes the reasons and puts forward the corresponding algorithmimproved method, and then through the simulation further test the improved algorithmeffect.In addition, this thesis also gives the algorithm software design process andintroduces the function of each module. Finally basic tests will be applied on the wholesystem and results will show up. Test results show that the use of the spectrum estimationalgorithm is better, the whole system to meet the basic requirements index, have strongerfeasibility.
