Consider the dual environmental and economic factors, the development of China’s roadconstruction market places more and more attention to the environmental and economic benefits.Damages such as reduced strength of the old roads make them can not meet the requirements ofmodern traffic, that is why we now rebuilt them to complete the upgrade process. While the oldroad materials have its remained value, the direct disposal of the old asphalt pavement may notonly have the environmental impact but also lead to the material waste. Standing on the point ofthe principle of full use of the environment and the old material, we try to seek a new solution ofasphalt pavement cold recycling technology to meet our requirements. This technology can savethe investment, draw the most direct economic benefits, and assure good social effects onecology and environment, all these make it a new environment-friendly technology that bringsgoods to the country and people. Based on the pulling feather of base structure layer of coldrecycling, the paper selects the splitting tensile strength as major indicator, to present apreliminary classification method on recycled material strength, and summarize mechanicaldesign parameters ranges of cold recycled mixture in the different categories. Through the studyon the deflection change of pavement milling on old road before and after, applying the linearregression and power regression fit method for different milling depths, the paper finally cancome to a rebound modulus of the old road after milling. Besides, the paper provides referencesfor the base layer tensile stress checking, based on fatigue tests of cold recycling mixture, andtensile structural intensity coefficient of cold recycled mixes concluded from the establishmentof the fatigue equation. Due to the non-uniformity of structure and materials of different sectionsof roads, this article analysis the cold recycled mixtures applicability, through resilient modulusof the old road pavement after milling, cold recycling mix design parameters, tensile strengthstructural factor three aspects, designed to provide the basis for the cold recycled pavementstructure design.
