Slope is the critical surface with certain inclination angle formed by rock body andsoil body which are affected by natural gravity or human activity, Slope is the mostcommon natural geological environment in human construction activity, generallyreferring to artificial slope and natural shore slope collectively as well as slip mass.Slope treatment is a disaster prevention and control engineering with complicatedtechnology and huge construction difficulty. As our country is in the period ofsocialist construction, infrastructures such as highway, railway, water conservancy,are in a rapid development stage. Engineering construction is booming. The numberof Large major engineering projects is growing. As a consequence, slope treatment isbecoming very important. Especially in the region where geological conditions arecomplicated while artificial and natural slope environment is more adverse, slopeproblem in engineering construction is more complicated and difficult to solve. For along time, people have kept exploring the slope issue, looking for methods and meansof analyzing slope stability accurately, so as to put forward the best treatment planwhich is more cost-effective, safer and more appropriate.Confronted with complicated engineering geological conditions, tight constructionschedule and huge difficulty in land survey, Citic Huating mountain slope retainingproject moved forward smoothly with high safety and good quality by extensivelycollecting field geological materials, referring to the project examples in Guangdongarea especially in Chaoshan area, fully discussing among multiple parties, applyingSwedish slice method and Jan’s finite slice method to stability analysis, and applyingfilling pile to the slope retaining.By adopting research methods such as combination of normative analysis andempirical analysis, combination of survey analysis and systems analysis, structureand function analysis, this paper summarized the slope retaining analysis methods formountain conditions. Based on Citic Huating mountain slope retaining project, wemade a detailed study of slope stabilizing and retaining of Chaoshan mountain area.The research of this topic aims to sum up a set of effective methods for sloperetaining in mountain area and boulder land. This research result will make significant sense to the study of more similar projects in areas with similar conditionsas well as the promotion and use of the slope retaining analysis methods.
