Layout Planning Research And Applications Of Traffic Survey Observation Site About Provincial Highway Network

Traffic survey station provides direct surveying data of road traffic statistics andanalysis. The quality of traffic survey data which traffic programme based on affectsaccuracy of statistics and analysis. But existing means of traffic survey is out of date. Thetraffic survey system can not match with the road network development. Therefore, planningresearches on traffic survey stations and establishment of advanced traffic survey system arebasis to further improve accuracy and timeliness of road traffic survey which are urgent needsto adapt to modern freeway traffic management and improve service level.The paper has summarized domestic and international development history of roadtraffic survey and analyzed traffic survey planning theory of provincial freeway network. Thethesis studies planning principles, ideas and methods of traffic survey sites of regionalfreeway network. The paper gives the survey sites planning method based on "two-stagemethod of laying" that combines quantitative analysis and qualitative analysis. After that, thepaper builds a workable and applicable layout of traffic observation sites for provincialfreeway network. Finally, the method is used to build traffic survey sites of Shaanxiprovincial freeway network. The result shows that this method is applicable to meet needs oftraffic observation sites planning of provincial freeway network.
