With the development of the national economy, urban vehicle saturation is getting higherand higher, which affects people’s normal life. Finding the optimal transport solutions havebeen the focus of attention for people. Considering from the cost of research such as human, financial, time and security considerations etc, traffic simulation can achieve multiplier effectthrough computer technology. With the study and analysis of urban transport theory, and OSGand PhysX, this paper developed a traffic3D simulation system of urban, which enablesurban traffic simulation more visual, dynamic. In addition, the system was combined withvideo fusion technology, using a semi-automatic alignment method, achieving a better videointegration.Achieving the traffic3D simulation of urban with the OSG and PhysX. To create acomplete3D traffic scenes, such as crossroads, trees, vehicles, lights etc using through uniquescene management and graphics rendering technology of OSG. In order to look more real andinteractive in traffic simulation, this paper used the PhysX, giving the actors unique physicalproperties, such as mass, friction, elasticity coefficient etc. When a vehicle with other objectscollides, it will have a unique effect of the collision; when a emergency brakes, a uniquecusion phenomenon will appear. The system could achive scene roaming based on actualneeds of users, achieving interactive purpose. An important branch of virtual reality-video fusion technology was used in traffic3Dsimulation of urban. Using the semi-automatic alignment of the video integration, OpenCVand feature tracking and matching algorithm, matching the state of motion of the vehiclemodel in the traffic3D simulation and vehicles in real transport video, which superimposeand display in the same window. Compared with the previous video fusion methods, thismethod reduces the computational complexity and accurates match.
