Concrete filled steel tube (CFST) structures have been used in bridge engineering for133years. Significant achievements have been obtained in the field of CFST structures. CFSTarch bridges first appeared in the highway bridges, and then they were used in municipalbridges and railway bridges. According to incomplete statistics, by the time of June2010,China has built327CFST arch bridges with the span of more than50m. With the continuousdevelopment of building materials, design theory, design methods and constructiontechnology, the development of arch bridges has gradually been towards lightweightstructures, composite structures and long-span bridge structures. In recent years, a number ofarch-beam composite system bridges have been built in China, and the levels of China bridgetechnology has achived and maintain the word advanced level. Single cable plane CFST tiedarches with superposed steel-box beam is a new type of composite system bridges. This typeof arch bridges has been seldom studied at home and abroad, the theoretical researches on thearch bridges are still relatively backward, and the stability of this type of structures is not veryfamiliar.Based on Yigangchi Bridge, one of Xitong Viaduct Project in Caofeidian, Tangshan city, which is a single cable plane CFST tied arch with superposed steel-box beam. ANSYS Finiteelement models of Yigangchi Bridge were bult and used to analyze the stability and bearingcapacity. The research of this paper has important theoretical and practical significances, which can be a reference for similar bridges.Different methods were used to simulate CFST arch rib, the eigenvalue analysis of thearch bridge with different load cases was made. And then, geometric nonlinearity and materialnonlinearity were considered, the ultimate bearing capacity of the bridge was obtained. Finally, the influence of different parameters, such as rise-span ratio, span, material strength, the stiffness of arch rib, main beam, inclined struts, transverse bracing and suspender, etc, were studied.
