Abstract/Summary:
With the price of gasoline rising due to the energy crisis, nowdays, the public haveimproved the requirement of automobile performance. There is the focus of attention on howto improve the efficiency of the gasoline engine. Under this background, the development ofvariable valve timing technology (VVT) has met the market.Following the gasoline engine, the paper systematacially described the history of thevariable valvetiming technology and as well as the development. Meanwhile, it introduced thestructure and principle of this technology, and emphasised on analysis of the control strategy.In the research field of the engine, the application of computer simulation technology cannot only improve the efficiency of the entire process, but also shorten the development cycleand save experimentation cost. GT-power, as the research software of engine, has become anindispensable tool used in the engine and auto enterprises.The paper used GT-power to build the orginal engine model, then to optimize the valvetiming which was based on the model.After that, the software simulated the application ofVVT. Ensuring the permitted engineering range of the model error, the test data checked themodel.Through comparison with the optimaized model and the orginal one, it was found thatapplication of VVT made the engine performance improve significantly and studied thereason.The significance of the paper lies in studying on the control strategy of engine variablevalve timing, and modeling the engine.By means of optimizing the valve timing, it enhancedthe engine performance. The use of GT-power greatly shortened the development cycle of theengine, and provided the theoretical basis for the follow-up work.
