At present, with computer technology, electronics and information technology, networktechnology, space technology development and a variety of measuring high-tech emerging, making the road survey and design the survey and design tools have been developed rapidly.Photogrammetry, Remote Sensing (RS), Global Positioning System (GPS), total stations, digital and other topographic data collection methods and means, has gradually become ourcountry high grade road terrain data sources. The terrain data is the basis data of the highway route design, collection of topographicdata is the first step to the establishment of digital terrain model. The original terrain data sources for Highway design are generally three methods: usingaerial survey methods to get data from the aerial camera chip; has been the digitization of thelarge-scale topographic maps; measured in the field to collect topographic data. This paper describes three methods used in the terrain data at home and abroad, described the various methods of acquisition process, and acquisition and data processing;focused on the accuracy of the acquisition of the three data collection methods and theaccuracy of the establishment of a digital terrain model(DTM) interpolation, after theestablishment of ground model accuracy guarantee; Finally, this paper compares theadvantages and disadvantages of the three data collection methods, and obtained theconditions of the various acquisition methods used in different situations, which will play aguiding role for the establishment of the digital terrain model(DTM).This paper combinated the digital terrain model of the Guiyang-Zunyi Highway, the firstdynamic measurement technology using GPS-RTK elevation measured on the point withinthe range of digital terrain model, through the establishment of digital terrain model elevationinterpolation, then, take a elevation contrast, reached the altitude error on the detection pointand the precision analysis of the digital terrain model based on aerial survey data.
