a large area of Chlorine saline silt with low liquid limit is distributed in Qinghai province, thissalt contains a large number of soluble salt. So, it has poor engineering characteristics. In thesaline soil area, along with the rapid development of high grade highway, it is absolutelynecessary to study the physical and mechanical properties, engineering characteristics androadbed deformation.According to the survey of the older G215, the older G215is found to cross most ofchlorine saline silt, and the main reason of the chlorine saline silt sections diseases is that thechange of outside temperature results in the variation of ground-water and the rising height ofcapillary water, so soluble salt from the soil dissolves, leading to compression deformationand insufficient of bearing capacity. Then, through the physical and chemistry experiments, mechanical tests and in-situ tests, the paper analyzed the physical and chemical characteristics, summarized the rules of the maximum dry density and the optimum moisture rate with differ-rent salt rates, and the rules of phase transformation temperature with different water rates andsalt rates, and compression characteristics and bearing capacity with different water rate andsalt rate were studied. Meanwhile, combining the test section of the new G215in Qinghaiprovince, We work out a detailed monitoring plan of roadbed deformation with chlorine salinesilt was worked out to further obtain the layered roadbed filling time, preloading time and theconstruction time of the basic and surface layer to guide the construction, and at the same timeput forward for effective roadbed design scheme to reduce the disease of repeatability.
