As the wide use of power electronics device, the current harmonics and inactivepower problem in power grid has become more and more severe. So some strict standardswere published by many countries. Traditional rectifiers such as uncontrolled orhalf-controlled ones will generate a mass of harmonics and inactive power. On the otherhand, PWM rectifier, with the advantage of low harmonics and controllable power factor, has a good prospect for application. The research was focused on voltage source single-phase PWM rectifier (VSSR). Atfirst, topology was studied, based on which, the principles of unipolar and bipolar PWMmodulation was investigated and compared. Then, through introducing switch function,time-domain and frequency-domain models of VSSR were established, based on which,DC voltage control strategy and indirect&direct control strategy for input current werediscoursed upon.To improve tracking performance of sinusoidal input current, a proportional-resonant(PR) controller was proposed, which resonates at fundamental frequency of input currentto obtain a high gain. There was a2ndripple in DC voltage of VSSR, to eliminate itsinfluence to current control, a notch filter was designed. On the basic of theoretical study, simulation research was developed based onMATLAB/SIMULINK. And through designing power and control circuits, a experimentalplatform with a TMS320F28335chip as control kernel was established. Both simulationand experimental results verified the theoretical research.
