With the increasingly fierce competition and the continuing expansion of scale,enterprises have put forward higher demand of equipment management and maintenance.While a scientific and reasonable maintenance strategy is an important foundation ofensuring safe and reliable operation, how to improve the efficiency and reduce the costs ofmaintenance has become the focus of researchers. For the status and problems of thepromotion of maintenance basis optimization (MBO), this paper has studied the key stepsand methods of Reliability Analysis, State prediction, Maintenance decision and so on, andit has designed a tailor-made Information Management System for MBO.Combined the practical experience of research and the characteristics of Engineprocessing equipment, this paper has elaborated the decision-making methods of ReliabilityCentered Maintenance (RCM), and has analyzed the concepts, methods and characteristicsof RCM. Following the idea of RCM and combining the characteristics of manufacturingequipment, it then has proposed the decision-making methods and procedures of MBO, ofwhich the key steps have been described in details. And then this paper has studied the stateprediction method of manufacturing equip-ments. For the gray features existing in theresearch, it has established a GM(1,1) model and has realized the quantitative stateprediction of manufacturing equipment, combining with the methods of a new informationmodel and Curve fitting. Then, this prediction method has been verified and eventuallymade a good prediction.Based on the former research, this paper then has established a maintenance timeoptimization model of manufacturing equipment. Considering the reliability of equipment,the risk loss and maintenance cost of failure, the loss of equipment outages and otherfactors, a function minimizing the total cost of equipment maintenance in unit time hasbeen built, which has solved the problem of determining the maintenance time in MBO.Then, this model has been verified, and the result shows that this method can really bringsignificant economic benefits to enterprise.Finally, according to above research, an Information Management System for MBO has been developed, which intergrades the reliability analysis, fault diagnosis, statusevaluation and prediction, optimizing maintenance decision, maintenance management andother functions. Meanwhile, a comprehensive optimizing maintenance procedure has beenbuilt, which has achieved good results in the use of one engine manufacturer.
