The ship propulsion shafting consist of drive shaft and its attachments between thegearbox output flange and the propeller, its mainly function is as follows: passing thepower of the main engine to the propeller, while keeping the axial propulsion,whichgenerated by the rotation of the propellor, transfering to the hull, and thus promotes theship forward with the reaction of water. Thus, the design and analysis of shipshaft has a special importance. In this paper, parametric design of ship shafting iscompleted, meanwhile, shaft strength checking and torsional vibration characteristicsbased on the parametreic is also studide,too. The major works are as follows:(1) To analysis the structural features of ship shafting, and then abstract out thecharacterristic parameters of the shaft, including geometry, attributes and load etc., theparametric model of shafting is established on this basis.(2) Researching on shaft strength check and the basic principle of torsional vibration,in this progress, focusing on analysis of the finite element method.Using APDL programthe command stream file, using the Visual c++6.0develop the friendly interactiveinterface. When the required parameter is entered, the software will call the ANSYS inbatch mode automaticly, realize the ANSYS parameterized finite element anslysis process.(3) Based on the parametric model built, taking a shaft for example to calculation thestrength check and torsional vibration of ship shafting, include the free vibration andforced vibration with the propeller exciting moment, the error is within the allowed values.Finally, good practicability of the general program has proved.The general program makes the automation and intelligence of ship shafting modeingand vibration analysis come true. The software reduces the repeat work greatly, meanwhile,it also improves the efficiency.
