Traffic accident statistics show that the secondary road intersection accidents account for alarge share of the traffic accident. A secure design model was established by analyzing the factorinfluencing secondary road intersection, which has important implications for safety design ofintersection.Paper funded by the Shanxi provincial Department of transportation science and technologyprojects has been completed. Firstly, combined with conflict theory, the intersection accidentprediction model was developed through the analysis of a large number of traffic accidents andthe traffic flow characteristics of cross on the basis of analysis of people, vehicles, roads andenvironmental factors. Secondly, through the acquisition of large traffic volume and speed datain the field, and analyzing the regularity of running speed change of vehicles at intersections, thedesign value of lane length value was received. Combined with the stopping sight distanceintersections, security design of the length of the stadia, as well as a dedicated left-turn lanes, intersection safety zone range was defined; Then, through the analysis of spacing of intersections, relative position and access slope at intersections, on the basis of ensuring the regional trafficsafety at intersections, combined with an analysis of slope safety intersection sight distance, therelational model between the base height and slope was established. Finally, through the researchof intersection safety zone of lateral clearance and road side security, application of colorpsychology to consider the effect of road landscape color to heart, physiological reaction ofdriver, a landscape design model of secondary road intersection was built. VISSIM simulationsoftware has verified that safety design of secondary road intersection, which has increasedcapacity, reduced delays than before improvement and achieved the purpose of security design.
