As national economy and technical have grown,cold-formed steel has been widelyusing in the construction industry. Cold-formed steel is not only used in low-rise housesystem as bearing framework component and maintenance component but also playing amore and more important role in the construction of high-rise buildings and largegymnasiums.This research is focused on cold-formed thin-walled c steel. The experimental studyhas three parts,single span frame,beam and column. All being treated as principal bearingelements,the section type is double cold-formed thin-walled c steel back to backconnected,the connection of the double cold-formed thin-walled c steel is gusset plate andhigh-strength bolt. The test is focused on the two influencing factors which are bolt pitch andaxial compression ratio influence on seismic behavior of overall framework. Based on thescenario noun of hysteretic curves and skeleton curve and strain distribution on low repeatedand reciprocal loading, the failure mechanism, strength deterioration, stiffnessdegradation,ductility and dissipation capacity of the frame were researched. The resultsreveal that all of the failure mode from the specimen are unstability in load plane and localbuckling at two sides of beam end and column base web. Bolt pitch has a greater impact onstrength deterioration. Axial compression ratio has a greater impact on stiffnessdegradation.The ductility coefficient of the frame and the dissipation capacity of thespecimen are higher than the concrete structure and general light steel structure.Basing on experimental study,this research using the finite element software ANSYS10.0simulated all the3different parts under the same conditions. In order to observe theinfluence of seismic behavior on the structure from bolt pitch and axial compression ratio,by using the selections element type and the definitions of material properties,defined theboundary condition and constraint condition and etc,the same size mode was be built.Compared the simulation data with the test results,the results of finite element areconsistent with the experimental results,and the simulation method could be used.
