Mechanical equipment fault diagnosis technology has important practical significancefor ensuring equipment to reliable, safe and efficient operation. The vibration signals ofmachanical equipment can reflect the working conditions of the equipment, therefore, faultdiagnosis method based on vibration testing is currently the most common and effectivemethod.Fault qualitative and fault location is the most important two aspects of mechanical faultdiagnosis, this article mainly study this two aspects contents. Introduced the main faultlocation method and its application, and summarize the characteristics of various methodsand defects, taking reference for research for fault location method.This paper first discuss a fault qualitative method based on time domain averageLaplace wavelet analysis. First use time domain average to extract the periodic componentfrom original vibration signal, then get correlation coefficient from Laplace waveletcorrelation filtering, and finally using Fourier transform to calculate spectrum of Laplacewavelet correlation coefficient and gain fault characteristic frequency, then integrated faultfeatures to achieve fault qualitative and location. The in view of turbine generator vibrationabnormal, using time domain average Laplace wavelet analysis method to proceed faultlocation case analysis, finally the actual results verify the validity of this method.Then discuss fault location method based on vibration signal phase of propagationcharacteristics. This method first use adaptive noise cancelling technique to reduce noisefrom vibration signal and use Hilbert transform to extract phase information. Then obtainphase characteristics by smoothing processing methods, thus according to the phase of thepropagation characteristics accomplish fault location. Finally it verified the correctness andpractical application value of this method through the rolling mill drive system faultdiagnosis.
