Today the depletion of conventional energy such as oil, coal and natural gas isaggravating. On the other hand, people try hard to reduce carbon emission and to slowdown global warming. Nuclear energy is assumed as one of the most prospectivesolution, and it has become the most important new energy resources in manycountries. However, the tragedy of nuclear accident on Fukushima nuclear powerplant reminds people of the importance of nuclear safty.Electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) test is a common testing technology onelectrical and electronic equipments. Nowadays, technical trends have pushed nuclearpower plant technology to the3rdgeneration. A critical characteristic of3rdgenerationnuclear power plant facility is digitalize and automation. Thus relevant studies hasimplied that it is risky when I&C system on nuclear is interfered by electromagneticdisturbance and lead to a malfunction. In a word, EMC test is highly necessary tomaintain the safety operation of equipments on nuclear power plants.This thesis is based on by U.S. nuclear regulatory commission (NRC) regulatoryguide U.S. nuclear regulatory commission (NRC) regulatory guideRG1.180.Researches are made according to the different standard suites of MIL-STDand IEC, both of which are endorsed by RG1.180.Study is highly focused on RFIradiated susceptibility testing, an important test item of RG1.180,which refers toMIL-STD-461E RS103and IEC61000-4-3respectively. The technical details such assignal characteristic, testing layout,measurement method and result analysis strategyare under discussion.The complete structure of a radiated susceptibility test system isintroduced. The calibration method of the critical parameters such as fieldstrength,field uniformity and amplifier compression are described.The thesis highlighted the research and design about a kind of2dimensionalfield uniformity calibration test fixture made of POM. The experimental test on theperformance of the test fixture is endorsed.Finally,a practical example of actualtesting practice is demonstrated accordingly, an evaluation method of test uniformityis noted. And a technical suggestion about conducting the relevant tests issummarized. The study result can be used as an informative guideline of the EMCtesting practice on nuclear power plant I&C system.
